Welcome to CWD Group

CWD Group began in 1995 with a simple idea: communities deserve a management partner that values service as much as expertise. From the start, the company focused on delivering responsive, people-centered support to the clients who trusted them.

That commitment shaped the company’s growth. Instead of advertising, CWD Group expanded through the recommendations of satisfied boards, homeowners, and long-tenured employees.

Serving Portland and Southern Washington, CWD Group has always remained locally owned and locally directed. There are no outside investors, no national headquarters, and no one-size-fits-all systems imposed from elsewhere. This independence allows the company to adapt quickly, adjust service models, and continue evolving with the communities it serves.

Today, CWD Group manages more than 200 communities ranging from two-unit properties to high-density developments with hundreds of homes. The portfolio includes over $8 billion in residential property value, yet the company maintains the same hands-on, client-first culture that defined its earliest years.

Giving Back to Communities

Community association management is not only about buildings and budgets. It is also about people, and CWD Group maintains a strong culture of giving. The company’s leaders and team members volunteer, serve as educators, advocates, and partners with charitable groups and industry organizations. Some of the groups CWD Group supports include:

Mercy Housing

One of the country’s largest affordable housing organizations, dedicated to creating and maintaining healthy, service-enriched communities for families, seniors, and individuals with special needs.

Oregon Washington Community Association Managers

OWCAM (Oregon-Washington Community Association Managers) is a professional association founded in 2002 to support community association managers and industry partners in the Pacific Northwest. The organization promotes professional standards, continuing education, legislative advocacy, and networking opportunities to strengthen the community association management industry.

A national program that brings holiday joy to children in need through annual toy drives and community campaigns.

The Pearl District Neighborhood Association

The Pearl District Neighborhood Association is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization representing the residents, property owners, businesses, and workers of Portland’s Pearl District in Oregon. It works to strengthen the community by promoting communication, collaboration, and quality of life through committees, local initiatives, and neighborhood improvements in areas like parks, safety, planning, and events.

Community Associations Institute (Washington State Chapter)

A national organization committed to fostering strong, well-governed associations. Through CAI, CWD Group contributes to Board member education, industry leadership, and policy development.

Community Associations Institute (Western Oregon Chapter)

Community Association Institute (CAI) – Western Oregon Chapter is a local chapter of the Community Associations Institute that serves community associations in Western Oregon. It supports board members, homeowners, professional managers, and industry professionals by providing education, resources, networking, and volunteer engagement to strengthen and improve community association governance and management.

Community Associations Institute (Central Oregon Regional Chapter)

Community Associations Institute – Central Oregon Regional Chapter (CORC) is a local chapter of the national Community Associations Institute that serves community association volunteer leaders, community managers, management companies, and business partners in Central Oregon. It provides education, training, resources, and networking opportunities through seminars, workshops, and events to help strengthen and manage vibrant community associations. The chapter supports professional development and connects members with tools and expertise to build strong, effective communities.

The Team Behind the Scenes

CWD Group’s success begins with its people. The company invests in recruiting, training, and retaining professionals who understand the complexities of community association management. Many team members bring decades of experience, and together, they represent more than 200 years of combined industry-specific knowledge.
